Inspired by the great abstract works and aerial photography on Artdoxa, I created a series called "Journeys". This series uses and explores different types of maps to create artwork compositions.
I digitally combined two of my Outback studies, manipulated the image then had it underprinted onto watercolour paper and I overlaid watercolour washes and glazed it in matte acrylic varnish.
From my Granite Belt misty morning studies, I created this painting on smooth 300gsm watercolour paper.

I sit in the dark. And it would be hard to figure out
which is worse; the dark inside, or the darkness out.
That talk like this reaps no reward bewilders
no one--no one's legs rest on my sholders.
I sit by the window in the dark. Like an express,
the waves behind the wavelike curtain crash.
